The Sage

Opened in 2004, its generous use of glass gives a striking presence, whether reflecting the river and city in the day or glowing with light at night.  The strong feature is the curved roof of stainless steel panels, over 3,000, which spans the three separate concert halls.

In the main concert hall, AkzoNobel’s solvent free powder coatings have been used on the seat frames.

As well as fulfilling a demanding anti-corrosive and environmental-protection brief, it was important that the color and gloss levels of the steel exactly matched those of the cladding.
